Backing Tracks for Bands is one of the few backing track suppliers on the web today that actually puts the genuine needs of their customers at the forefront of their business. We create top quality instrumental backing for bands that are looking to add another dimension to their show and set themselves apart from the rest of the bands in their circuit. We also work hard to make our customers happy.
Many of the tracks available on the site are a direct result of the set lists that I have used in the bands I play in. As time has gone on, requests have come in, and we’ve worked to satisfy people as we’re able. I sometimes get requests for “backing vocal only” tracks. I want to say up front that I will resist making vocal only backing tracks whenever possible. They’re more difficult to make, and can therefore take a bit of time to produce.
We have a bit of a different viewpoint at Backing Tracks for Bands than what other backing track suppliers may have. While they may tend to focus on the need for karaoke type tracks with all of the instruments, our tracks are what bands need to help make them sound “just like the record”, while still retaining the quality of a live feel. We (generally) don’t throw in stuff that you don’t require and only add the elements that are truly going to make your band sound better. My personal philosophy has always been that when using tracks, you should only be including instruments and voices that simply don’t exist in your live unit. That is to say, we don’t include drums (but may include percussion), we don’t include guitars, (except for the occasional acoustic guitar) or really any of the main components of a song that a musician can replicate from most stages.
Unlike many other companies, we stereo separate our tracks so music will be on the right channel and a click track will be on the left channel. All of our tracks are made this way, although many other backing track suppliers don’t even put in a click track. We know that click tracks are essential for musicians performing to backing tracks and our tracks are made with the need of the performing live band in mind. Our tracks will help your band to sound huge when you utilize them properly.
I do get an occasional e-mail from customers that can’t figure out why when they buy the tracks, the music and click come out of the same speaker. If that’s happening it’s because of one of two things; either the signal has not been properly separated from the playing source (i-Pod, Minidisc…) using stereo connectors (stereo connectors will have two black rings on them), or they’re playing the track from a computer using a media player that mixes the left and right signal into one. Once folks become aware of what’s required to run backing tracks properly, the problems (if any) seem to go away.
The point here is this, at Backing Tracks for Bands, we'll support you to help get you going on your way to running tracks on stage with your band.
